When François Seignouret, a famous cabinet-maker who had settled in Louisiana, came back to visit his native town of Bordeaux in 1830, he founded the company Seignouret Freres. Today, it is one of the oldest independent wine merchants in Bordeaux.

Traditionally, Seignouret Freres focused on cellar-ageing wines, from their selection and purchase to estate bottling by the firm. Nowadays, it has expanded into working with selected châteaux for which the company handles the marketing of 50 to 100 of their production. Our winemaker, Bruno Ronda, an oenologist, supervises production, from harvesting and vinification through to chateau bottling.

Mr. Ronda's vast knowledge of the different terroirs and his rigorously high standards enable Seignouret Freres to produce its own special brands. These wines are the result of the careful blending of grape varieties from the finest vineyards in each appellation. The Port de Bordeaux, Seignouret Monopole and above all Excellence de Seignouret ranges are the result of such a selection.
